MS Office Automatically Repair Office Programs

Repair Access, FrontPage, InfoPath, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint, OneNote, Word, Excel

Caution before you begin, remember that choosing the Discard my customized settings and restore default settings option will set the above MS Office Programs back to the state they appeared in when you first installed Office.

1. Each program needs to be repaired exclusive of the other programs. Open the Program to be repaired

2. On the Toolbar go to the Help menu, click Detect and Repair.

To restore the program shortcuts to the Windows Start menu, make sure the Restore my shortcuts while repairing check box is selected.

3. Click Start.

Note This procedure detects and repairs problems such as missing files and registry settings associated with all installed Microsoft Office programs.

It will not repair personal files, such as spreadsheets or documents. It will repair the program to full functionality if not corrupted therefore, allowing the program to run effectively and not freeze or slow down.

If the Detect and Repair command does not fix the problem, you might need to reinstall Microsoft Office.
